Art Celebrating Equality Festival started at The Warren Young People’s Centre in August 2016 with 5 days of free workshops supporting young people to create art about them including a magazine of photographs, an online book of illustrations and digital art, spoken word and puppetry performances. It continued throughout the summer of 2017 culminating in a projected display during Hull’s Freedom Festival.
Art Celebrating Equality is a festival run by young women at The Warren in partnership with Hull City of Culture and Hull Freedom Festival, delivered by artists Joanne Coates, Bee Willey Illustrator, Sarah Pennington, Anna Ingleby & Catherine Scott. Documented by Fly Girl Films. Funded by Arts Council England & Big Lottery Fund.
